How far in advance do you take bookings?Firstly, thank you for supporting my small business! I open my books for Wedding Makeup bookings 1 year in advance. You're welcome to email me earlier than this to express interest and I can pencil you in but I don't take deposits any earlier than 12 months out. For event makeups or lessons I can take bookings at any time prior to your date just keep in mind if you have you heart set on a date and time to book in as early as possible as I cannot confirm my availability if you leave it too late. SFX / Halloween or Creative bookings - 1 month notice for your booking is ideal as I may need to order and source product for your look. Please note: Halloween is an extremely busy weekend for me so please enquire early to avoid disappointment.

When / Why should I book a wedding trial??Why? A bridal trial is always recommended to ensure you are confident with your look for the day, its a chance to ensure the products and formulas I use are correct for you and will last. We can play with colours, finishes, makeup styles, lashes and choose a perfect lip shade to compliment your look. Its also a chance to get to know each other, discuss the day plan and I will have some good tips to share with you to ensure a smooth morning too :) When? I recommend doing a trial within the 3 months prior to the wedding. Any earlier and your ideas may change, any later and we may struggle to find a date to suit us both. Trials usually take 1.5 hours and I recommend booking in the morning where possible so you can have a full days wear of the makeup and see it in natural light.

How do I prepare for a wedding trial?Leading up to your trial you may either have a strong vision for your makeup or have zero idea at all and both are fine! In both instances its great to have some visual examples to help me understand the styles you like, so its great having some photos to share and we can break these down together. Expect this will be like a new client consult at a salon, I will ask you quite a few questions to learn about your skin and style and take notes, this is all part of the process. It is also great to share with me your usual makeup routine (if you wear any) as I'm usually meeting you for the first time with a fresh face. We will create a custom look together and then can make changes at the end and spend time picking a lipstick together too. Lashes are always something I recommend trialing if you are on the fence about them, this is the perfect opportunity to test the waters! Please share with me any makeup or skin concerns, allergies or brands and products you cannot use. Please come to your trial "makeup free" if possible. We will finish by talking through the day plan and your other party guests makeup so have a think about your bridesmaids and if you have any preference for their look. Please allow around 1.5 hours for a trial

What is your minimum or maximum number for a wedding party?I can do up to 7 full makeups before needing an assistant artist, this is also relative to timing of your day if you dont want to be staring too early I can organize another artist to work with me for the day for parties over 5. The minimum I require for a wedding booking is 3 people and for weddings out of Wellington it is 4 (this includes the Wairarapa) I will always do touch ups and a fresh lipstick application for everyone before I leave for the day so your squad doesn't need to worry about who is having their face done first.

Do you travel out of the Wellington region??Yes I can travel anywhere in NZ on request. Please get in contact with me as soon as possible and we can organize any flights or travel costs nice and early.

Do you do hair too?I do not offer any hair styling services currently but I can assist with basics like straightening, extensions and simple curls for an add on fee, this is by enquiry only and for individual event bookings. *no weddings Please see my list of incredible local hair stylists recommendations below: Dollhouse Do Miss Dom Styling Wedding Hair by Rachel Antoinette Kavanagh Veronica Zhou

How long do you need for makeup?I allow the following time frame per person for makeup services: Bridal Trial 1.5h Bridal Makeup 1h Bridesmaid 45min Mother of the bride 45min Flower girl 10-20min Classic Makeup 45min Full Glam Event Makeup 1.5h SFX and Face Painting - Please Enquire This is a great tool to use to work out my start time for the day for wedding parties if you work backwards from when you need to be ready by. TIP: Leave yourself at least 45mins before having to leave. This time is to relax, have a drink, get any photos and have your shoes, dress and jewellery on. This can take longer than you expect and its also nice to allow a wee moment with your group without vendors around before the big event!
